On La Montamos, Atlanta-based MC Nino Augustine shows his Afro-latino Panamanian roots with Brooklyn-based producer and NYC “Que Bajo” party co-founder Uproot Andy, unearthing hypnotic urbano rhythms of reggaeton, dancehall and latin trap house, with a some Dirty South twang thrown in. Nino Augustine’s Panamanian roots and Caribbean inspirations come through in every word as he creates a stripped-down reggaeton with his authentic sprit at its core. Releasing a series of EPs and singles, including one on DJ Riobamba’s APOCALIPSIS label, accompanied by vivid videos over the past two years, Augustine’s popularity as an artist bridging Atlanta’s hip-hop and electronic scenes has only grown. Brooklyn producer and longtime Moonshine affiliate Uproot Andy helps raise the roof and celebrate summertime with Augustine: the co-founder of the legendary NY party “Que Bajo” imbuing the track with melodic levity and a strong dose of Global Bass.
