Kicking Vol. 4 into high gear, Malembe enters on a lithe melody that rapidly explodes with heavy bass and commanding vocals. Recorded between Montreal, Lisbon and Kinshasa, Malembe is the first collaboration between friends Pierre Kwenders, Montreal-based Afro-Canadian singer-songwriter-producer and Moonshine co-founder, and Boddhi Satva, pioneer of the Afro-house movement and the father of Ancestral Soul in Central African Republic. A prominent independent artist and protégé of Grammy winning Lil Louie Vega, Boddhi Satva has also added his future-driven electronic production to tracks by Nigerian pop star Davido, soul man Omar Lyefook MBE, DJ Maphorisa, Zouk legend Kaysha, the late DJ Arafat and many others. Dropping Kinshasa-based atalaku MC Redbull’s energetic, booming voice into the mix alongside Kwender’s lyrical resonance turns Malembe into a multi-layered musical conversation fit for pulsing dancefloors.
